Divvying Up the Details

Dave and I went over all our homestudy requirements tonight and split up the responsibilities: I'll be responsible for getting our three references, photocopying our daughters' birth certificates, asking our pediatrician for medical reports, and getting a criminal background check for me and Dave. We have our first meeting with our social worker on Tuesday, January 15th. Getting paperwork together and having meetings is all well and good, but I sure wish I was closer to giving these kids an all-encompassing hug!

When I walk outside and see the stars, I think, "Wow. My Liberian children are underneath these same stars." When I experience a clear, cold winter day, I wonder, "Have my kids ever experienced a truly cold day?" Sayfou and Maddie are never far from my waking thoughts... and I've only known about them for one month!!! How amazing!

We'll keep plowing through the paperwork... anything that will get us closer to seeing our new children!
